Many people were curious to know how many years I realized objects in leather, and many others were interested to know how this passion was born, so I'll start from the beginning.
I started to create my first things in 2004/05 with a friend, having approached the role-playing live. We started with bracelets and small bags, then move on to shoulder straps and sheaths for latex weapon. The work that we made for ourselves pleased, and so small requests came from other people who, like us, share this passion. This was the impetus to continue to experiment with more complex models, trying to figure out how to Realize certain things, and not only in leather.
After the first year, I went on alone down my street and I devoted myself more to leather. all this took place with simultaneous years of high school and was a critical period. Critical because the choice of a high school should set the future of a child, there is always time to change your mind, but you would start at an advantage, having clear ideas and thoughtful, things that at that age it is very difficult to have.
Year after year my passion for leather grew and with it my ability, but I had not yet reached a level that clearly show to my family and myself, my natural inclination to this art. I really wanted to find a master and become a shop boy, while my parents were pressing me to put my head affixed, beginning to explore the possibility of other jobs and to grope something during the summer holidays.
In 2008, by chance, I came across in the art of engraving, and there was a first sign of change, new air and new hope. Since this is a foreign art. and since I’m not good at languages, my experiments were initially almost completely intuitive and limited, but it was still exciting. Within a year, thanks to the will and determination and a bit of luck I was able to better understand the logic to be applied to those processes and began to master everything better. Also in that same year, 2009, I met my current mentor who taught me some basics to create simple objects with saddlery techniques and advising me where to find tools and more.
My skills had improved and was finally evident to my parents, who started to support me, but I had a few jobs, and for me it was a hobby and not a job with schedules, responsibilities, etc.. I felt I could give so much but still felt to be limited so I looked for schools and workshops where I could learn day after day all that was possible. I finally found something after a long time but this put me in front of a choice, I would have to relocate to another city for a six months course, leaving parents, friend, girl friends and habits. It was really what I wanted? I would have regretted it later?
at the end after talking a lot, explained my fears and being reassured I left home to go to this school where I stayed for exactly one year and this was the year 2011/12.
Now I am back home in Rome to face my first full year of work.
